American Family Association reverses course on 'Gays' → pageoneq.com

OneNewsNow, the “Christian news service” covertly owned by the AFA, receives syndicated content from providers like the Associated Press and edits instances of the word “gay” to read “homosexual.”

An article posted Sunday night about Olympic track and field star Tyson Gay was no exception.

“Tyson Homosexual easily won his semifinal for the 100 meters at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials,” the article read, “and seemed to save something for the final later Sunday.” The headline read “Homosexual eases into 100 final at Olympic events.”

“On Saturday,” it went on, “Homosexual misjudged the finish in his opening heat and had to scramble to finish fourth, then in his quarterfinal a couple of hours later, ran 9.77 to break the American record that had stood since 1999.”

“Asked how he felt, Homosexual said: ‘A little fatigued.’”

Hollywood Pay Strike II: Clash of the Titans  → entertainment.timesonline.co.uk

I supported the WGA strike in November, but two major strikes in under a year - in this economy? This is not going to bode well for anyone, especially not the set makers, caterers, make- up artists etc., who won’t benefit from either of these strikes, yet have to pay the price of being out of work for X months until the matter is resolved.

Hollywood should realize that the Internet never goes on strike and as it stands, they are going to lose even more of their audiences to other things.

Man in a van

I was at a stop light when this 1980’s looking VW van put its signal on for my lane, as the light turned green, I paused and motioned him in. While merging his behemoth of a van with, what I presume was his left hand, he did wavey motiony movements with his right.

I guess he saw my confused expression in his rearview mirror, so while driving, he stuck his upper half out the window to face me and screamed “Good vibes to you, dudette!”

Sometimes I forget how much I love California.

Taking Action for Zimbabwe

Renée writes: I was at a conference where Joe Trippi recommended this site; there are a couple of other people who have recommended it as legitimate.

It’s maddening when a country has to rely on foreign citizens to protect their own, even more considering the U.S has intervened for less.

Rant

jakoblodwick:

My worst problems are caused by conflicts of schedule. There are too few hours each day to do everything I want to do.

My energy is finite. If I waste it on the things I want to do, I will be unable to channel it into the things I need to do. In my life, the realm of “want” is mostly one habit: browsing the web. The realm of “need” is inventing companies that change the world.

I cannot do what I need to if I do not control this habit.

(via jakoblodouche)

I don’t know what about yesterday’s Gawker post annoyed me so much, that is until I read this… and got even more annoyed. It’s not that I blame Lodwick for wanting to ‘change’ the world, it’s a pretty noble thing to want, but how much change can occur being ignorant, lazy, and simplistic?

If you can’t even take the time out to read up on China, who has been in the news quite a bit recently due to THE OLYMPICS, what can be said of the Middle East, South America, Africa? Anything?

Maybe in trying to change the world Lodwick should educate himself on it first, or, perhaps, change his definition of what ‘world’ means.

And yes, I know I just posted something from Vimeo.
